This past Saturday, I got the chance to style this wonderful shoot with two of the sweetest girls ever. Melissa Connolly is a fitness model & competitor here in Minnesota. She booked a shoot with Nana Tran Photography to update her portfolio a bit. I had worked with Nana before as a client as well. Nana is also a fitness model & competitor in the cities. She has recently turned an interest in photography & has been working on nature/landscape photography as well as portrait photography.
Melissa had initially wanted a “Fitness Ballerina” themed shoot, but after much consideration from all 3 of us we also decided to throw in some edgy & high fashion pieces into her look so that she had more of a variety. Since the weather was not cooperating we managed to shoot at a hotel suite in Downtown Minneapolis. Before Melissa arrived, I got the chance to catch up wtih Nana about her photography & the fitness world. Nana is such a humbled soul. She is currently a donation based free lanced photographer. Although she is quite new to the scene she is starting very professionally from equipment to art direction to editing. I was very impressed by her professionalism and by her overall vision for herself & her work.
Melissa arrived shortly after and we got into WORK mode! She was so nice & excited! I love when styling clients come into a shoot already pumped & ready to get in some sexy stuff! Although Melissa’s main focus is fitness, she also wanted to do some more edgy & softer sensual shots as well. We put her in 3 AMAZING outfits from the Shameless Collection 2011. She rocked them ALL. I posted the behind the scenes shot I took of her with her ballet flats on. I am SO obsessed with ballerinas & it was awesome to see someone in some ballet slippers AND one of my outfits.
